Marketing Content Writer at Digital Genetix, San Antonio, TX
On the Jobscan, I received a 78%, which is a lot better than my previous resume scan.
I changed a lot, I added on job titles that I feel I’m an expert in, right beneath my name. So when an employer looks at my name they also affiliate it with the job titles below. Now the reason I didn’t change the job title description to “Marketing Content Writer,” and a question I have as well, is because when given my social media accounts and web portfolio, these are the titles that will be presented. Wouldn’t it be confusing or falsifying if I changed my job title just to match the job title that’s present in their ad? If you have any info or advice as to how to approach this, please let me know.
I prioritize my content accordingly; Projects – Education – Certificates, on the left hand and Mission – Skills – Software – Equipment, on the right hand. Since I have no work experience in the subject matter, I do have quite of education experience that I’ve had practiced in understanding and working with. I’ve given the project names and links, with brief, bulleted description of what the project required of me and when it took place. As for certificates, I only put the three that I believe would verify me to qualify for the job. The mission statement, skills, software and equipment, I felt were important to add to help distinguished me from my competitors.
Lastly, I added my Portfolio Site, LinkedIn, and Instagram links only because on my cover letter I had put my email and phone number information. I didn’t want to seem redundant and wanted to give the employer more options to view my work and or contact me.
